Maintenance Savings

car maintenance and repairFirst, a little sales pitch for regular maintenance. Maintenance means changing fluids and replacing worn-out parts as needed. For example, oil that isn’t changed when it is full of contaminants can circulate bad stuff throughout your engine. Expensive parts start to wear out and, all of a sudden, deferred maintenance can cause expensive problems. Instead of a $30 oil change you’re now paying $3,000 for a new engine. Ouch!

Everybody knows that regular maintenance is cost-effective. So why do some cars go a year or more without an oil change that should be done four times a year? Hey, we’re busy. We have lives. And we just plain forget.

As a full-time auto mechanic and technical advisor for this website, Loren Luedemann says, “I don’t see many overly maintained cars in our shop – mostly ones that are under maintained.”

Good car maintenance is a habit. Just like brushing your teeth, regular car maintenance can save more expensive—and more painful—problems. This book will help you make good car maintenance a habit without pulling teeth. It’s actually easy to keep your car well maintained.
